The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. 2 Corinthians 13:14
He’s our Savior but what does that mean to you anyway? Who is Jesus anyway?
Christ being my Lord and Savior, means the world to me. Not only did Jesus give His life for me, when I was still a sinner and so ignorant of His love for me. But Jesus died and resurrected on the third day, AND in doing this made a public spectacle of Satan and his kingdom. He embarrassed the kingdom of the darkness, death could not even hold Jesus captive.
And the follow through for me, is that Jesus didn’t only die for me and forgive me of my sins: He gave me Himself. Jesus ascended to heaven and sent Holy Spirit to be with us forever, all the days of our lives. Whatever counsel we need, He’s here. Whatever protection we need, He’s here. Whatever healing we need, He’s here.
What an awesome God I serve. That’s the follow through for me. I read the excerpt below from a teen bible I have; and I find really interesting. Have you ever been in love? Or have you ever been in a relationship?
It’s all lovey-dovey in the beginning… take you to dinner, buy you flowers, open doors for the lady, sweet sayings, sweet kisses…
Then somewhere along the way, it gets familiar. No more goodnight kisses, no more holding doors open, no more flowers and chocolates for no reason… things begin to get pretty stale if we fail to keep the fire on. Or even when we let life and it’s circumstances put the fire out.
It takes two to make the party right, right? God did for us, we must also respond to Him. Otherwise, we have a one way relationship.
Father God, thank you for your follow through. Thank you for your persistence, and undeserved love and favor. Thank you for lifting us back up from the fallouts, and for coming through for us when we think we cannot go on any longer. I thank you for your extended mercy, and your daily favors with which you crown us. You are wonderful God, help us to respond to you Lord. May you give us an awakening of your presence and needs, remind us to date you again and spend the alone time you desire and which our souls thirst for. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
