… and I pray that the fellowship of your faith may become effective through the knowledge of every good thing which is in you for Christ’s sake. Philemon 1:6
Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships.
Why are there so many gods? The world knows more about working together towards a common purpose, than does the church.
As the body of Christ we are called to work together to a world mission. We don’t function the same: but we are not called to compete, limit, condescend, slander nor criticize each other. The church is divided by doctrine, and this message confuses the world: a divided church has no message for a divided world!
A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand, and neither can a church. The bible says we are called to love, edify, correct and support one another. If we have fellowship with God, we will have fellowship with our brothers and sisters in Christ. The word fellowship means partnership. In order to be a prosperous and mission driven church we need people who are committed partners, first to God and to the vision second. In Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians, we can see that when we give ourselves to God we are then able to give ourselves to the church of God (2 Cor. 8:5).
The people you call friends or mentors, could lead you far from your call and purpose. The Bible warns us to consider who we hang out with because a companion of fools will find destruction. A fool will not submit to God and can easily will lead you astray. We also know that some associations can drain your energy, kill your faith and even contaminate your vision. Proverbs says, bad friends corrupt good morals.
God is Love. The Lord tells us that we are one with each other, then the world will know He is God. Love one another, love covers a multitude of faults. He tells us to be of one accord with one another: this is true partnership.
Lord God, you’ve brought us together. You’ve raised us. You’ve given us purpose. You’ve given us vision and missions. Today we ask you to place us in strategic places where your mission will be done. May we see the arm of the Lord stretch out; May the hand of the Lord and His face be recognized amongst us, your church. In Jesus name, Amen.
