Devotional 4/5

All those who were in distress or in debt or discontented gathered around him, and he became their commander. About four hundred men were with him in the cave of Abdullam. 1 Samuel 22:2

The greatest evidence of having been filled with Holy Spirit, is not speaking in tongues, as wonderful as that is; but power in an individual’s life.

Lord Jesus, thank you for your love, grace and protection. Thank you for deliverance and revelation. You are an awesome God. You are amazing Lord, all powerful, all knowing, and ever present God. Thank you for tending to your sheep. Thank you for leading, directing, and instructing us. We give you praise and glory for taking care of our cares, worries and concerns.

Thank you Most High God, for your word. Jesus I pray for our strength, courage and deliverance. Today I pray for those who are going through hard times. Those who have been battling with anger, debt, frustration, grief, hopelessness, bitterness, rebellion, defiance, hate, envy, fear, insecurity, arrogance, pretense, nagging, rejection, abandonment, perversion, mistrust, gossip, self denial, self justification, coveting, self hate and a bunch of other things I could go on mentioning for days! Continue to empower us to be like the 400 men in the cave of Abdullam. Make warriors of your children Jesus! And if it applies, I pray you help us to rebuild our altars- strengthen our feeble arms and knees to incessantly pray and adore you. Deliver us Lord, from anything which brings us down in countenance or spirit. Even if it hurts, or if we feel wounded you are the Rock. And we ask you to dig down to our core, and show us what we need to hand over to you. Take out and destroy everything You did not plant! Re-build us through you. Be our architect, and lay our foundations, make us immoveable.

I present to you Lord, even those who do not know you as Lord but acknowledge you as God and have faith in you. I ask you to encourage them in their trials, and give them hope, faith and love to push forward.

I pray you turn our sadness into happiness, mourning into joy, and distress into praise. In the name of the Almighty God, Jesus Christ. Amen.
