The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. Exodus 15:2

Having Faith often means doing what others see as crazy.

Francis Chan

Our God is able to give us the tangible and intangible things to make us complete. And He knows exactly how we will get to them.

Joshua was given the task of overtaking the city of Jericho. He had to be sensitive to God’s spirit and leading, and had to communicate God’s instructions to the people He was leading. In the third chapter of Joshua, God welcome the people of Israel into The Promised Land. But in chapter 5, God instructed them to overtake what was theirs. They had to go around the city of Jericho 7 times in silence and on the 7th set, they were to sound their horns and trumpets and worship with a loud voice. Has God ever gave you directions on how to overtake you next season?

The city of Jericho was a walled city where people lived. The city of Jericho was their enemy, they had watchmen on their walls, and the city was 6 acres in size. The city of Jericho was about 6 football fields in size! The Bible doesn’t say what was going on in the minds of the people, but I can imagine they were tired and somewhat fearful. In my mind, they walked around it’s circumference thinking, “we’re going in circles. I hope this really works God.”

God has welcomed us into The Land of Promise, and here He is giving us directions so that the limiting beliefs we have would be destroyed! The walls of Jericho fell when Israel was obedient to God! God has more for you, the giants may be here, the walls may be built, and we have responsibility of leading your people: may the walls of your life fall and the giants be destroyed!

Let’s pray:

Thank you father God, for your faithfulness and mercy! Thank you for bringing us into The Promised Land, where we can enjoy milk and honey. I pray you open our eyes and ears to be sensitive to your Spirit and the will to obey your instructions! In Jesus name, Amen.
