God will feed us

I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture. John 10:9

We eat when we are hungry, we are fed when we are led.

Psalm 23 says, the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want and that the Lord also leads us along green pastures. The Lord promises in the scriptures to save us. He says that on a daily basis as we go out and about, we will find pasture. The term pasture is telling of a plot of plants (or grass) grown to feed flocks of animals.

When we are born again, the Lord recognizes us as spiritual babes. We feed on milk, as are infants. As we mature in Christ, we begin to eat meat. As people who have been saved, the Lord says that we will also be fed. Our hunger is satisfied and our thirst is quenched by the Spirit of God and His word. He also gives us what we need, and asks us not to worry about sustenance. He gives us sufficient  grace for the support of all things relating to life.

We are also called to feed God’s flock, God’s people. We care for the flock, and supply to their needs physically, mentally, emotionally and financially if possible. We also tend to people’s needs by fighting in the spirit for them. As believers we are to receive, but also give. In John 21, after Peter denies Christ, the Lord seeks him and tells him, Peter if you love me, then feed my sheep.

Let’s pray:

Thank you Lord, for loving us unconditionally. You are the real MVP. Thank you for not abandoning us and for promising to be with us everyday of our lives. Thank you for energizing and supplying with grace, power and desire to please You and do Your will. Thank you for helping and sustaining us. In Jesus name, Amen.
