Things to come

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. John 16:13

The anointing of the Holy Spirit is given to illuminate His word, to open the scriptures, and to place the spiritual man in direct communication with the mind of God.
Charles F. Parham

The God of all creation lives in us, and shows us things to come in different ways. He doesn’t speak of His own accord, but what He hears from God. Just like our human spirit knows our mind, the spirit of God knows the mind of God.

God is not limited to how He can speak to us, He can do so through everything and anything, depending on how He can get it across to us. Many of us receive revelation through reading the word, insight through prayer, promptings on our hearts, while others have dreams and visions.

The reason the Lord tells us of things to come is to build our faith. As I’ve mentioned many times before, the Lord has a timetable: a Kairos. And in telling us the future, He also tells us that He is trustworthy and that we are in His timetable. He also tells us of thigs to come so that our faith may sustain us, and so we may prepare in advance and not be caught unaware. And finally, the Lord tells us the future so that we may grower in the convictions of His prophecies in the bible.

Stay tuned! The Holy Spirit has things to show you for the future!

Let’s pray:

Father God I thank you for your indwelling. For bringing us to life on a daily basis, and taking away our shame and helping us carry burdens. I pray you give us direction and discernment to know your voice, and use our authority against any contrary spirits. I ask you for deeper convictions of your will, may people know your voice Holy Spirit. In Jesus name, Amen.
