The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. Proverbs 21:1
God has the final say.
The Lord makes all things work for His glory. He sets our crooked paths straight and orchestrates our lives. Noemi, Ruth and Orpah had all experienced grief, but for some reason He moved Ruth to partner with Noemi, her mother in law, and do life.
The bible says that all of their husbands passed away and because marriage no longer united them as a family, they could do as they pleased. Noemi understood that her in laws would want to have a family of their own and remarry. She had no expectations from them, so whatever they’d decide was fine. Except that God had a plan.
The bible says that the kings heart is in the hand of the Lord and He turns it as He pleases. We can safely say that the Lord moved Ruth to stay with Noemi, not only to help her but to fit her into His ultimate plan. The scriptures said that the Messiah would come through the lineage of David and in the genealogy of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, we see that Ruth was David’s grandmother. He chose Ruth, initially an un-believer, to be part of Jewish history. He drew her loyalty to be towards Noemi. Through the rest of the story, we see how the Lord also worked in Boaz’ heart so that he’d favor Ruth and let her pick up leftover grain from the floor.
All of our hearts are in the hands of God, including our bosses, our nation’s politicians and those in eminence. Our God is precise. He is sovereign: fully aware of each detail, the behind the scenes and what’s coming around the corner. Embrace the peace of God today, He has the final say. He knows how our stories will play out! He is able and willing to work in our favor and set our crooked paths straight!
Father God, thank you for giving us your love and presence. Thank you for working all things for our good, even those things which the enemy means for evil. I pray for the peace of God which surpasses all understanding. I ask you for confidence in your sovereignty, may you increase our faith and ability to trust in you Lord. In Jesus name, Amen.
