We are in God’s Gymnasium

I saw a quote yesterday which said, a lot of people just found out they are not Christian but simply people addicted to church. This pandemic is happening to us all, but how are we responding? The Lord wants to use this pandemic to build our faith in Him.

The true believer will stand in faith and rest in what he/she knows about God’s character. Throughout the bible we see that the Lord is the God of the turn around. He uses our hopeless situations; the confusion, frustrations and desperation, to build and strengthen our faith. This pandemic will either make us or break us, my prayer is that you will use this time to train yourselves in the Lord.

The Lord is a trainer and we are in His gym. We choose whether:

  • we complain about the effort it takes to train
  • we distract ourselves watching others and how they work out
  • we give up; decide to take selfies and pretend that we are doing the work

  • we can train how the Lord desires and come out on the other side spiritual gains

These are a few spiritual things I’d like to share: we can use this season to strengthen our prayer life, seek deliverance, experience another side of God, study a subject you’ve always desired to know about, become a soul winner, a mentor, come under the covering of a leader/mentor, serve the needy (widows, homeless, ostracized) and so much more.

Lets pray:

Thank you father God for extending your grace and mercy to us. We recognize that you didn’t bring this pandemic, but you have allowed it. We know that You are guiding us and teaching us what You want us to learn and receive during this time. I pray you reveal to your children that their spiritual well being is not stuck or stagnant. I give you glory for doing this. In Jesus name, Amen.

Our parents trained us for a little while. They did what they thought was best. But God trains us for our good. He wants us to share in his holiness. No training seems pleasant at the time. In fact, it seems painful. But later on it produces a harvest of godliness and peace. It does that for those who have been trained by it.
