Your family is not your enemy. Your spouse is not your enemy. Your child, their friends , your boss, your coworkers; People are not your enemy. We are fighting against influences and mindsets filled with limited/wrong beliefs.
Many of us struggle to acknowledge that our upbringing has conditioned us to respond to life and others. The way someone was raised and what they experienced is their truth, even if it’s not necessarily accurate. The spiritual forces did a great job in implanting wrong beliefs into this person since childhood. Our upbringing is most telling of how we behave and respond to life.
Let’s use narcissists as a short study. These individual are pawns used to hurt and manipulate others, but they are not our enemy because it’s not personal. Our enemy in this particular circumstance is the truth they live by. Growing up they may have had great parents, but did not receive the emotional support, comfort or acknowledgement they needed for their brains to develop and form healthy attachments. And so, in order to compensate they developed control and egoistic tactics, tendencies and mechanisms to do life.
The Bible says we fight against powers and principalities in heavenly places. This means that we have an enemy who is powerful and has spiritual influence. He uses this power and influence to attack us through pawns (people) and manipulation (situations).
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
I pray each person reading this can use this knowledge to self reflect and fight the lies your enemy has implanted in their minds. You are the spirit of truth so I ask you Jesus to reveal to each of us things we have wrongly believed since childhood. May we receive revelation that our enemy is Satan, and not people. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
